Vessel Management

Technical Vessel Management Gold Coast

Complete vessel care and technical support across the Gold Coast and South East Queensland.

One call. Every marine solution.

The problem with organising a vessel yourself

A boat doesn't need one trade. It needs several.

Someone services the engines. Someone else looks at the air conditioning. A third does the antifoul. None of them speak to each other, none saw what the last one found, and the service history ends up as a folder of invoices in a drawer — if it's anywhere at all.

So you end up running it. Chasing quotes, booking trades around each other, trying to remember what's due and when it was last done. And more often than not, you find out what the boat needed on the weekend you wanted to use it.

What Gold Marine Solutions Vessel Management means

Vessel Management is ongoing technical responsibility for your boat.

We assess the vessel, build a maintenance plan around it, and arrange the work — carrying it out ourselves where it's our trade, and bringing in the right specialist where it isn't. We confirm what was completed against the agreed scope, record it, and carry that knowledge into the next cycle.

You deal with one accountable Gold Marine contact who knows the vessel and holds the whole picture.

One accountable contact across the vessel

Engines, gearboxes and drives. Batteries, charging and vessel electrical. Sanitation, freshwater, bilges and seacocks. Generators, cooling, fuel, steering and controls.

One plan and one record across all of it — instead of four trades, four opinions and no shared history.

How it works

1 · Assess

Establish what the vessel is, what's aboard, what condition it's in and what it's due.

2 · Plan

Set intervals, priorities and a forward schedule against both running hours and calendar time.

3 · Coordinate

Book and sequence the work, in-house or specialist, and attend.

4 · Verify

Confirm the work was completed against the agreed scope, review the outcome and note anything still outstanding.

5 · Record

Log what was done, what was found and what's next, in the vessel's own record.

Then it starts again. That's what makes it management rather than a service call.

Preventative, not reactive

Most expensive marine failures start as smaller maintenance items.

An impeller replaced on schedule is routine maintenance. The same impeller failing underway can mean lost cooling flow, an overheated engine, damaged exhaust components, a tow and a ruined weekend. Batteries weaken, anodes disappear, sanitation hoses deteriorate and seacocks become harder to operate over time.

Tracking those items means the work can be planned before the vessel decides the timing for you.

Technically led

Management here is run by tradespeople.

Gold Marine's mechanical trade qualification and marine electrical diagnostic capability are what make it work. Geordie Bridges, Director & Technical Vessel Manager, sets the standards and holds accountability for the relationship; Gold Marine technicians and appropriately qualified specialists carry out the work.

It means we can scope a fault properly, assess whether a proposed scope and quotation are technically appropriate, and review whether the completed outcome aligns with what was agreed. That technical background means decisions aren't being coordinated in isolation — the scope, vessel condition, previous work and technical requirements can all be considered together before work proceeds.

Your vessel's record

This part isn't new.

Every annual service client already receives a vessel-specific Owner's Maintenance Guide — built for their boat, not a generic booklet. It documents vessel identity, engines, gearboxes and generator, serial numbers and hours, fluids and part numbers, baseline operating figures, owner pre-trip checks, maintenance intervals by hours and calendar, semi-annual and annual whole-vessel checks, and a service history that any mechanic, electrician or plumber can write into.

Your guide is built for your vessel.

Managed vessels build on that same system. Alongside the history, the record tracks current open defects and observations, priorities, upcoming and forward work, anything waiting on your approval, contractor and specialist work completed, work deliberately deferred and why, and references back to reports and invoices.

The vessel's history belongs to the vessel — not to whoever happened to be aboard.

Washing down a vessel's hull alongside at the marina

When a specialist is needed

Some vessel work needs another trade — underwater hull work, hardstand and antifouling, shipwright work, air conditioning, regulated electrical work, specialist fuel-system reconditioning.

Finding that specialist and coordinating them shouldn't become your problem.

Gold Marine works through an established network of local marine trades and technical suppliers across the Gold Coast. We scope what's required, engage the right people, coordinate the work, review completion against the agreed scope and add the outcome to your vessel record.

Those specialists remain responsible for their own regulated work and certification. Our role is to coordinate the work, confirm completion against the agreed scope, identify any apparent outstanding items and make sure the outcome becomes part of the vessel's record.

Who this is for

Vessel Management is about how a boat is looked after, not how long it is.

How ongoing care is arranged

Structured ongoing care is available through Gold Marine Memberships.

Select keeps it presentable. Premier keeps it trip-ready. Signature manages the vessel for you.

Larger or more complicated vessels can be quoted a tailored Vessel Management arrangement following a Vessel Assessment.

Larger projects

Multi-trade work — haul-outs, refits, upgrades, engine-room rectification or a full defect list — can be separately scoped and coordinated as a project, with scope, budget and sequence agreed before work starts.

Vessel Management

No. It suits any vessel with enough going on that keeping track of it becomes work — that includes plenty of well-kept 30 to 40 footers. What matters is how the boat is looked after, not its length.
No. Gold Marine's Vessel Management is focused on the technical condition, maintenance and care of the vessel rather than crew, charter or brokerage management.
We scope the requirement, engage an appropriately qualified specialist from our established local network, coordinate the work and review completion against the agreed scope — then add it to your vessel record. The specialist remains responsible for their own regulated work and certification.
Structured ongoing care is available through our membership tiers. Larger or more complicated vessels are quoted individually after a Vessel Assessment, which establishes the vessel's size and complexity, its systems and condition, berth and access, how often it needs attending, and how much coordination is involved.

Book a Vessel Assessment

Start with an assessment. We'll go through the vessel, its systems, its condition and how you use it — then recommend the right level of ongoing care: a membership tier, a tailored management arrangement, a project to get on top of things first, or simply the work it needs now.
