Servicing, diagnostics and repairs for diesel, petrol and outboard-powered vessels across the Gold Coast.
Engines, propulsion, steering and the systems that keep them running.

Routine servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs, fuel-injection work, engine removal and replacement, and major mechanical repairs.

Annual and scheduled servicing, diagnostics, and ignition, fuel, cooling and general repair work on outboards, petrol inboards and sterndrives.

Gearbox servicing, sterndrives and lower units, driveline faults, shift systems, controls, hydraulic steering, vibration and shifting problems.

Fuel delivery and filtration, pumps, filters, injectors, contamination, raw-water and closed cooling, heat exchangers, thermostats and overheating diagnosis.

No-starts, smoke, loss of power, rough running, overheating and abnormal noises. Electronic diagnostics where the engine supports it, compression testing and mechanical fault isolation.

Component replacement, engine removal and replacement, remedial mechanical repairs and larger repair work.
Experience across a range of major marine diesel, petrol and outboard engine makes.

You don't need to diagnose it before calling us.
A no-start may be mechanical or electrical. Overheating can involve engine cooling or the vessel's raw-water supply. Loss of power may come from fuel delivery, controls, air supply or internal engine condition.
Tell us what the boat is doing and we'll work out where the fault sits. Gold Marine assesses both the mechanical and electrical side of a fault, so you don't have to choose the trade before you call.
If the engine has stopped and you're on the water, call rather than fill in a form.

Excessive smoke, diagnosed as low compression on cylinder six. The engine was disassembled in the boat on the water, craned out from the dock, then replaced with a rebuilt Ford Lehman and reassembled in the vessel.

Called out to a no-start. Cranking was fast, and the fuel rack was found stuck closed in the injection pump. Rather than strip the pump on that alone, we compression tested first — and measured under 100 psi on every cylinder.

Failed manifolds and risers left the engine seized. Neglected servicing turned what should have been a maintenance item into a full repower, and the engine was removed and replaced with a newer unit.

Fuel leaking into the bilge, traced to the delivery valve housing on the injection pump. Lines, delivery valves and the housing were removed, new O-rings fitted, and the assembly reinstalled.

Scheduled overhead service, covering the valve set and injector plunger depth.

The helm controls were working back to front. The direction was reprogrammed and the controls set up to operate correctly.
Whether it's due for a service, won't start, is overheating, has lost power or simply doesn't feel right, contact Gold Marine and we'll work through it.
If you'd rather servicing was scheduled and tracked across the whole vessel rather than booked each time, ongoing technical management does that. Vessel Management →
